May is National Bike Month, and there’s no better time to celebrate all the ways cycling connects us to the city—and to each other! Whether you're a seasoned cyclist or just dusting off your wheels for spring, cycling is a fun, healthy, and sustainable way to explore Philadelphia—and it’s a great way to get to and from the Rail Park.
While Phase One of the Rail Park is best enjoyed as a destination rather than a trail to ride on (its quarter mile length with a staircase at one end is much better for relaxing, gathering, and taking in the views rather than riding), it’s an easy ride from many parts of the city. We love seeing folks lock their bikes at the Noble Street entrance bike rack and stroll along the elevated path, enjoy a snack, or catch a community event.
Philadelphia is rich with incredible trails and bike-friendly routes. If you're looking to extend your ride, our network of trails is hard to beat—from the scenic stretches of the Schuylkill River Trail, to the wooded Wissahickon, to the hidden trails of Fairmount Park. These paths offer something for everyone, whether you’re seeking adventure, exercise, or a peaceful escape.
So pump up those tires, grab your helmet, and ride over to the Rail Park. We’ll see you on the trail (or at the park)!
