Sunday Jazz over the City
As part of Philadelphia Jazz Month, we are hosting saxophonist Mervin Toussaint and his band for a late-afternoon performance at Rail Park. Set among trees with the Philadelphia skyline as a backdrop, the performance will unfold as the sun lowers through the landscape. Come experience live jazz as it blends with the everyday rhythm of the city.
A Haitian American artist, Toussaint draws on jazz, gospel, and contemporary influences. His work explores identity, spirituality, and community, reflected in his 2022 debut album LAKAY. Based in Philadelphia since 2016, he is also an educator and serves as Branch Coordinator at Settlement Music School’s Germantown branch, where he mentors young musicians.
