Rail Park Time Capsule
Friends of the Rail Park is creating a Time Capsule – a digital story map and archive that will visualize the stories, objects, spaces and places that sustain culture and hold historic value for the people that live, work, and play in the 10+ neighborhoods that the Rail Park traverses through.
The Rail Park Time Capsule aims to capture not only the physical places in our neighborhoods that we love, but the non-physical elements that make them special, too – our shared histories, stories, memories and hopes.
The Time Capsule allows community members to identify and reflect on what is most valuable, celebrated, and in need of protection in their neighborhoods. It’s like a digital show and tell – where YOU tell the story of where you live, based on what matters to you.
The Rail Park Time Capsule will illustrate a vision for the past, present, and future of Philadelphia neighborhoods, as told by the people that know them best.
The Time Capsule will generate a collective vision for the Rail Park – one that uplifts the existing identities and assets of the communities the park connects. From Brewerytown to Northern Liberties, we want to know what makes your neighborhood unique.
