Phase One is Open

Phase One of the Rail Park is open! It starts on Noble St, just east of North Broad, and arcs toward Callowhill up onto the Viaduct.

The park is free and open daily from 7am–10pm.

There are two entrances to the park: a wheelchair accessible entrance along Noble St on the bridge over 13th St, and a staircase on Callowhill between 11th and 12th.

Pets are welcome, but please clean up after your dog.

Maintenance and programming will be a joint effort between Center City District, Friends of the Rail Park, and Philadelphia Parks & Recreation.

Designed by Studio Bryan Hanes and Urban Engineers, this first section of the Rail Park took 19 months to build, and is now home to 1,100 plants, 11 types of trees, 30 varieties of perennials, and gorgeous environmental graphics by Cloud Gehshan.

We hope you come visit and take some time to relax on the swings, enjoy the views, meet some new people, and get a breath of fresh air. While you’re here, imagine the future, when this park goes on for miles. Then get involved, and help us bring the rest of the Rail Park to life.
