Introducing our new leadership
Dear Friends of the Rail Park,
I hope this message finds you in good health and good spirits. A bright spot amidst the sea of pandemic-related news, I am happy to announce the appointment of Rebecca Cordes Chan as our new Executive Director. Rebecca comes to us from the National Economic Development program at Local Initiatives Support Corporation (LISC) with a background in community development and arts and culture work. The board and I are excited by the wealth of relevant experience, collaborative spirit, pragmatism, and commitment to equity and inclusion that Rebecca brings to the Rail Park.
I am also pleased to introduce the Rail Park’s new board chair, Nyla Koncurat. Nyla is an experienced entrepreneur and investor, and her passion for public green space and building businesses will greatly benefit the Rail Park in the years to come. I will remain on the board as vice-chair and look forward to continuing the work of maintaining and activating phase one, as well as the completion of future phases of the Rail Park.
We are living through unprecedented times that remind us of the importance of the Rail Park and places like it. Places that connect us to nature and to local culture and art; places that provide an outlet for physical activity or a peaceful respite. Now more than ever, it will take innovative strategies and approaches to carry out the full vision of the Rail Park, and I am confident that Rebecca and Nyla, together with our board, staff, partners, and supporters will build on our positive momentum and make the vision of the Rail Park a reality.
Please join me in welcoming Rebecca and Nyla, and thank you for your continued support of the Rail Park.
Sarah McEneaney, Vice Chair
P.S. Keep an eye out for personal messages from Rebecca and Nyla introducing themselves in the weeks ahead!
